SEO Content Specialist

Job Description

The SEO Specialist will manage and execute SEO strategies for Torro’s clients while also supporting content and social media initiatives. This role blends analytical skills, technical web knowledge, and creative problem-solving to deliver measurable results. Responsibilities include optimizing websites, conducting keyword research, troubleshooting technical issues, and posting or updating content to align with SEO best practices. 

A key part of this role is joining regular client calls to present updates, explain SEO data in a clear and accessible way, and provide actionable recommendations. The SEO Strategist will also support broader digital strategies, deliver regular reports, and maintain strong client communication to ensure strategy and outcomes are well understood.

Key Responsibilities:

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the main point of contact for assigned clients
  • Conduct discovery sessions to understand client goals, audience, and digital presence
  • Provide consistent updates, reports, and recommendations to ensure client satisfaction

SEO Strategy & Execution

  • Develop and implement SEO strategies tailored to client goals
  • Conduct keyword research, competitor analysis, and performance tracking with SEMrush and related tools
  • Optimize website content (blogs, landing pages, pillar pages, metadata, internal linking) for improved rankings
  • Perform SEO audits, identify technical issues, and coordinate fixes with the web development team as needed

Website & Technical Management

  • Manage and update client websites in WordPress (posting content, optimizing pages, troubleshooting issues)
  • Ensure websites meet SEO, usability, accessibility, and performance best practices
  • Reach out to the web development team for advanced troubleshooting or development requests when necessary

Content & Social Support

  • Write or optimize client content, ensuring alignment with SEO goals and brand voice
  • Contribute to Torro’s thought leadership by writing blogs and creating video content
  • Support social media efforts with keyword-informed content ideas and optimization guidance

Analytics & Reporting

  • Monitor SEO and website performance through Google Search Console, SEMrush, and Google Analytics
  • Prepare performance reports and recommend adjustments to improve results
  • Stay up-to-date on SEO trends, algorithm changes, and digital best practices

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Marketing, Communications, Digital Media, or a related field
  • 2–4 years of experience in SEO and digital content management (agency experience preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of on-page and technical SEO best practices
  • Proficiency with WordPress, SEMrush, and project management tools like Monday.com
  • Familiarity with HTML/CSS basics
  • Ability to troubleshoot website issues and collaborate with technical teams
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to clearly explain SEO data to clients and present insights in an actionable way
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with SEO plugins (Yoast, Rank Math)
  • Understanding of social media marketing and paid social strategies
  • Google Analytics or SEO certification
