SEO Content Specialist

Play a pivotal role in managing our SEO clients.

Job Description

As an SEO Content Specialist at Torro, you'll support the planning and execution of SEO strategies that improve website visibility, increase organic traffic, and help our clients rank higher in search engine results. This role is ideal for someone with foundational SEO knowledge who is looking to grow in a fast-paced agency environment.

Job Type: Full Time, Contract to Hire

Key Responsibilities:

Keyword Research & Optimization

  • Conduct keyword research using tools like Ubersuggests, Google Keyword Planner, and Semrush
  • Perform content gap analyses to identify missing or underperforming topics compared to competitors, and provide recommendations to improve keyword coverage and support overall content strategy.
  • Support the optimization of on-page elements including titles, meta descriptions, headers, and image alt text

Content Support and Optimization

  • Assist with updating website and blog content on multiple content management systems to align with SEO best practices
  • Collaborate with the content team to ensure SEO insights are integrated into new and existing content

Technical SEO Support

  • Perform basic SEO audits and identify technical issues (broken links, redirect chains, etc.)
  • Assist with implementation of schema markup, sitemaps, and site speed optimizations, and backlink strategies 
  • Develop and implement internal linking strategies to improve crawlability, distribute page authority, and enhance user experience across key pillar pages and blog content

Reporting & Analytics

  • Monitor keyword rankings, traffic, and other SEO KPIs using tools like Google Search Consol, Google Analytics, Ubersuggests, and internal reporting dashboards
  • Prepare monthly performance reports with insights and recommendations
  • Track backlinks and analyze competitor strategies

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with other departments including Web, Content, and Social teams to support integrated campaigns
  • Participate in client meetings and provide SEO-related insights as needed

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or a related field
  • 1–2 years of experience in SEO (agency or in-house)
  • Strong understanding of on-page and off-page SEO principles
  • Proficiency in SEO tools such as Google Analytics, Google Search Console, SEMrush, Ahrefs, or similar
  • Familiarity with content management systems like WordPress
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Skills:

  • SEO certification or coursework
  • Familiarity with basic HTML and CSS
  • Experience in managing and optimizing content for websites
  • Experience with SEO plug-ins (e.g., Yoast, Rank Math)
